Show & Tell Mermaid Tail

Here's another show and tell project. This one is made from my mermaid fin pattern. Donna sent me a picture of her beautiful finished mermaid tail. She added some wire so the fin will keep it's shape. Brilliant! I wish I could make the picture bigger to show off the details. Thank's for sending the pic, Donna!

     I have two to show today. First up is Laresa's cell phone case. It's a lovely spring yellow and the butterfly is too cute! She added a button and a strap. Very nice! Click here for the free pattern.

  I hope everyone had a great holiday and is refreshed for the new year. My first post of the year, will be a show & tell of projects that were done with my free patterns. I haven't done them in a long time and I have fallen way behind. Please forgive me if I said I will post your pictures and didn't get around to it.   First up is Alice's beanie hats. She used the Quick Easy Winter Beanie pattern for gifts and for donating to Emily's Hats for Hope Initiative.  Want to help donate? Check out her website to find out more about Emily and her project for helping the homeless and working poor.

  Next is Juliana's beautiful headwarmers. The Easy Headwarmer Pattern has a video tutorial to help you crochet along. I love her flowers and black and white theme. I'm not sure what pattern she used for the flowers, but they are lovely.

  Rachel sent me her finished items from my Quick Easy Winter Beanies pattern. This is her first ever crocheted hat and I'm so honored that she chose my pattern! It looks like it turned out great. She said she combined two beanies to make a reversible beanie with two different colors to choose from, or you can flip the bottom up like it shows in her picture. Brilliant! Great job, Rachel, and thanks so much for sending pictures!

  Liz sent me some pictures from her visit at the Inauguration in DC this year. She made a red white and blue cloche from my Classic Cloche pattern and adorned it with some Obama buttons. Very creative! She even made a scarf to match. Thank you for the pictures, Liz. I'm glad you and your husband had a great time and a safe trip. The hat looks great on you!

Show N Tell

  Tia sent me this picture of her floppy hat that she made with plarn. If you don't know what that is, it's plastic yarn cut from plastic bags. She made adjustments to the pattern for the brim and added a very cute flower from a pattern that she found on Ravelry.com. It came out beautiful! Thanks for the pic, Tia.

  This is Christa's Floppy Sun Hat. She used sport weight yarn and followed the pattern as written. She says it will fit a 3 to 7 year old. A few of you asked how to tweak the pattern to make a smaller hat. I had suggested a smaller hook, or to start with fewer puff stitches in the first round. I didn't think of using a lighter weight yarn. Brilliant! Thank you for the picture, Christa! Your little girl looks adorable!

Show n Tell

  I finally finished and posted the second part of the video for the Floppy Sunhat Pattern. That one is pretty repetitive, so there are a lot of fast forward parts. I hope it is clear enough. The lighting was kind of bad. I'm still working on that. Parts of it were a little blurry too. Sorry about that. Phew, other than that, I'd say it was a success!
