In round 5 it will feel like you are chaining 2 in between stitches because of the chain at the top of the puff stitch. This was one of the first patterns I've written so I appologize for any confusion. If you want to make the hat larger, I would suggest starting with 7 or 8 puff stitches or going up in hook size. I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any more questions. daperfectmixhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01272315374665667546noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-616168822685835020.post-74929509720948121962021-04-07T00:53:55.811-04:002021-04-07T00:53:55.811-04:00So I am trying to make this and I am assuming roun...So I am trying to make this and I am assuming round 6 is where u get the diameter of what size hat this will make? If so since u don’t indicate a gauge do u have any idea what size your circle is after round 6. I am only getting 5 inches which will only make about about the size of a bag hat if I am right about making hats. I really like this one and really want to make it but just not sure if it’s going to be anywhere close enough to an adult size. I guess I didn't think it was necessary to say, but I will have a look at the pattern to see if it needs to be updated. Have you tried to follow the video? Maybe that will help make more sense of the pattern. I do understand when something in a pattern doesn't click right away. It makes it frustrating instead of fun. Sometimes I find if I come back to a pattern later it somehow all falls together in an aha moment. The stitch count on the brim is not reall...Hi Imee. The stitch count on the brim is not really important, not to mention it's just too many to keep track of. The important part is how it looks. The more you increase, the floppier the brim will be. To control the floppiness, that is the purpose of the rounds of sc without increasing. But if you do too many of those rounds, the brim will begin to curve. Sometimes you have to experiment to get it just the way you like it. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any more questions! daperfectmixhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04910186249275835843noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-616168822685835020.post-20139572728608359352017-05-04T20:21:13.692-04:002017-05-04T20:21:13.692-04:00Hi, I don't think I'm getting the right st...Hi, I don't think I'm getting the right stitch count on the brim. Can you tell me how many I'm supposed to have at the end of round 3 on the brim? I'm getting 126 sc but it doesn't seem to tie in with the number of stitches on round 4. i.e. sc 15 times and 2 sc on 16th stitch, which means it should be multiples of 16 plus 1, so I should have 129 stitches?Imeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14977331267321419165noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-616168822685835020.post-245101247765249222017-01-20T03:23:17.820-05:002017-01-20T03:23:17.820-05:00Hi. Here's my puff stitch directions:

"Puff stitch: Yarn over, put the hook through the stitch, yarn over pull up a loop (3 loops on hook), yarn over, put the hook through the stitch again, yarn over pull up another loop (5 loops on hook), yarn over and pull through all five loops, ch 1 to secure the stitch."

If that doesn't help, maybe you could try a larger hook.
